Though it is easy to look at others and to be envious at how much they seem to have in comparison to ourselves, it is a mark of Christian maturity to focus not on them but to recognize the gifts God has given us.

We are to take seriously our Lord’s call to forgive. For forgiveness can open us more fully to the joy, peace and freedom Jesus offers through his death and resurrection.

I hope likewise on this road of mutual accountability in regards to sin, that we also might walk the parallel path of inspiring one another to holiness.

I wonder if we might be open to the possibility of joy. A strange, strange(!) joy, connected to love, that has the power to draw us closer to the Father’s heart, and to Jesus, who makes him known.

We humans were made to be a “living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.” The further we walk down the path to living a holy life, the more fulfilling and satisfying our lives will become.
