Faith, Jesus seems to be saying isn’t about fully getting it, rather it’s about paying attention to where our beliefs are leading us.

We like to have quick stories to help us make sense of things, but reality is often more complicated than our quick stories allow.

It is as though we [the Baptized] are not merely swimming behind our Lord, but the joy is such that we jump and leap and dive and play, rejoicing that others have chosen to follow with us in his wake.

I’m not sure I could return violence with non-violence, as did Martin Luther King Jr.. But I would love to have at least some of his courage.

And all of us who are baptized, if at times we are tempted to “settle” elsewhere, know that God is calling us to “go,” to pivot our lives toward Jesus, and to find our home with him.
