Children are invited to attend Trinity Parish’s Sunday School program beginning at 9:45am. The Sunday School classroom is on the lower level in Room 1, directly across from the stairs. Please proceed down a side aisle to the front of the sanctuary, go through the door, follow the hallway to the right, and descend the stairs. We meet in Room 1, which is directly across from the bottom of the stairs. If you would prefer someone to show you, please ask an usher.
This week's Sunday School teachers will be Martha Hadeler and Kevin Galli. This week's lesson is Jonah, the Backward Prophet:"Now a prophet is someone who can speak for the One True God, but Jonah still did not speak. the sailors asked him who he was. he told them he worshiped God, the One who made the sea and the dry land. Then the sailors were afraid. They knew that he was trying to flee from God." I wonder, why did Jonah try to flee from God? I wonder, what was it like for Jonah to be in the belly of the whale? I wonder, can you imagine something that might make you want to flee from God?
This Sunday, in order to help prepare some of our parents for the Baptism of their child in January, we continue with the four-week series of scripture reflection on passages that were used to prepare catechumens for Baptism in the early Church. We will reflect on the passage and then ask, "What might we do to best support N. in their life in Christ?" (See BCP, p 303.)
November 26: John 9:1-49
December 10: John 11:1-45
Sessions will close with prayer for the parents and their child.
Once again this year, we are invited to give gifts to children who are homeless or recently housed whose families are served by the Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center in Cambridge. If you would like to participate, there is a sign up list in the Dunbar Room (coffee hour space). Gift suggestions are on flyers in the room. By signing up,you commit to purchase one gift for one child. You can purchase more if you wish. Please do not wrap the gifts! The parents will do that. All gifts and gift cards must be received by December 3
Come, and make an Advent wreath for use in your home! This brief workshop following the Sunday liturgy December 3 is open to all ages. Candles and all materials provided (although if from a previous year you have the wreath frame, please bring it).
We invite you to take part in a new initiative that we are establishing at Trinity. Using the online service Lotsa Helping Hands, we are organizing a group of volunteers who are willing to help fellow parishioners based on needs that arise. Go here for more information.
The parish vestry voted in 2022 to go "mask friendly"; that is, unless otherwise indicated, masks are optional at Trinity Parish. Please note that, pending further guidance from the Diocese and local infection rates, the church may in future return to requiring face coverings for in-person gatherings.
