This week's lesson: Faces of Easter I – III. "Jesus was talking with the rabbis and the priests. When Jesus spoke, they listened, because He knew so much. When they spoke He listened, because He wanted to learn more."
I wonder what the priests and rabbis learned from Jesus?
I wonder what Jesus wanted to learn from them?
I wonder who you listen to and follow in your life?
I wonder how you are preparing for Lent?
Trinity’s Vestry invites the congregation to read and join a weekly discussion of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s 2020 Lenten book, Saying Yes to Life, by Ruth Valerio, a book that shows reverence for the environment through the framework of the Days of Creation in Genesis. We will discuss the book’s six chapters after Sunday services during Lent. The Vestry hopes that parishioners will be inspired by some of the practical suggestions on how we can appreciate and care for God’s creation.
This week begins the Bishops’ Annual Appeal, with an ambitious goal of raising $300,000. These funds provide financial support for our diverse shared ministries and initiatives ranging from lifelong Christian formation, to youth and young adult ministries, to racial justice and creation care initiatives, to multicultural and immigration outreach. The appeal newsletter and donation envelope are available at church or by contacting the parish office. Please place your gift in the Offering on “Ingathering Sunday,” March 19. You may also mail it back directly to the diocesan offices. (For more information, please go to the Diocesan Web site.) Together, we are able to accomplish that which we cannot do alone!
The Trinity Parish Vestry voted in 2022 to go "mask friendly"; that is, unless otherwise indicated, masks are optional at Trinity Parish. Please note that, pending further guidance from the Diocese and local infection rates, the church may in future return to requiring face coverings for in-person gatherings.
Thank you to all who continue to send in your pledge! Your faithfulness in keeping up your pledge helps Trinity Parish stay “in the black” during this time, and we are grateful. Pledges may be mailed to Trinity Parish at 11 Homer St., Newton Centre, MA 02459.
