This week's lesson: The Parable of the Good Samaritan. “When the stranger came to where the traveler was who had been hurt, had everything taken from him, and had been left by the side of the road half dead, the stranger went to him. The stranger put medicine on the places where the person was hurt. He gave him his coat to put on. He then put him on his donkey and took him to a place to spend the night.”
I wonder how the good Samaritan felt helping a stranger?
I wonder if you have ever helped someone who needs it?
I wonder who needs help and extra prayers in your life?
Funeral services for David Nelson, including Holy Eucharist, are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 11:00am. Please join us as we celebrate David's life here in Trinity Parish as well as the "old" Parish of the Messiah. There will be a catered luncheon, as well as some displays of David's photography. More details to follow.
Trinity Parish's 2023 Annual Meeting is taking place in two parts: the first in December, when elections were held, and the second on Sunday, January 29, 2023, when the Investment Committee will make its report and the Treasurer will present the 2023 budget. There will additionally be a preview, held online, of the 2023 budget on Monday, January 23, at which time questions will be answered by the Treasurer. A link for the budget preview will be made available in next week's E-weekly, as well as on the parish Web site.
The Trinity Parish Vestry voted in 2022 to go "mask friendly"; that is, unless otherwise indicated, masks are now optional at Trinity Parish. Please note that, pending further guidance from the Diocese and local infection rates, the church may in future return to requiring face coverings for in-person gatherings.
Thank you to all who continue to send in your pledge! Your faithfulness in keeping up your pledge helps Trinity Parish stay “in the black” during this time, and we are grateful. Pledges may be mailed to Trinity Parish at 11 Homer St., Newton Centre, MA 02459.
