This Week at Trinity

Weekly Announcements • April 17

April 17, 2022

Sunday School

Please note that there will be no Sunday School on Easter Day (April 17). There will, however, be an Easter egg hunt at Trinity following the Liturgy.

This Holy Week we reflected on the darkness and suffering that Jesus endured, remaining hopeful as we are reminded of the love that Jesus has for us and for the new life that comes with Jesus' Resurrection on Easter Sunday. "The women wanted to remember Jesus, even if it was sad. When they came to the tomb, they found that the stone had been rolled back and that the tomb was empty. Jesus had died on the cross, but somehow he was still with them as he is with us, especially in the bread and wine.’"

I wonder where you find Jesus in your life?
I wonder how you can tell that Jesus is always with you?
I wonder what you are looking forward to this Easter?

Trinity Parish Going Mask Friendly April 14

The Trinity Parish Vestry has voted to go "mask friendly" effective immediately; that is, masks will be optional at Trinity Parish beginning on April 14, including during the "The Great Three Days" — the liturgy of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and The Great Vigil of Easter. Please note that, pending further guidance from the Diocese and local infection rates, we may in future return to requiring face coverings when we gather in person.

A Weekly Volunteer Opportunity

The Blackstone School Library in Boston’s South End is now open again to students! The library is not supported by the Boston Public Schools, as funding for many Boston school libraries was radically cut years ago. The Blackstone School library is run by amazing volunteers, and over the last decade a good collection of books has been established, and good connections have been made with the teachers and students. The library outreach is part of St. Stephen’s Youth Programs. Trinity Parish has supported the library for several years.

The Blackstone Library is currently open Monday–Wednesday (9am–3pm) and 18 classes are now coming to the library for story time, browsing, and borrowing books. If you enjoy sharing stories and books with children, you will find that it is very enjoyable to work with the students. If you are interested, please email Liz Steinhauser or talk with Daryl Mark.

Pledging During a Pandemic

Thank you to all who continue to send in your pledge! Your faithfulness in keeping up your pledge helps Trinity Parish stay “in the black” during this time, and we are grateful. Pledges may be mailed to Trinity Parish at 11 Homer St., Newton Centre, MA 02459.

Centre St. Food Pantry Wish List
