Reason and Reality

Purists tend to believe that their reason corresponds to reality and forget that reason is to reality as a dwarf is to a giant.  The visionary knows that truth is expressed only in fractions, and is revealed only through the lens of metaphors and parables.  Is it really possible to see what is concealed without a veil?  Or to peek past our bounds without metaphors?
