Sunday School for Lent & Easter

March 14, 2022

Sunday School begins at 9:45am. Sunday School also meets remotely on Wednesday at 5:30pm for mid-week prayer.

The lesson for March 20 is The Faces of Easter IV & V: Jesus went into the desert to discover more about who he was and what his work was going to be. He was there for forty days and forty nights. There was little to eat or drink.

I wonder how Jesus felt in the desert?
I wonder if He talked with God?
I wonder how you would have felt it you were walking with Jesus in the desert?

The lesson for March 27 is The Faces of Easter VI & VII: That afternoon, Jesus died. The sky grew dark. Jesus was taken down from the cross and buried in a cave. A great stone was rolled into the opening of the cave to close it like a door. Jesus had died on the cross, but somehow he was still with them as he is with us, especially in the Bread and Wine.

I wonder what Jesus’ death means to you?
I wonder what you look forward to most about Easter?

The lesson for April 3 is The Passover Story: This is like the flat bread the people made so quickly. Whenever you taste this bread, you taste this story. This is the bread of the Passover Feast. It is called “matzo.”

I wonder how the People of God felt when Moses was leading them out of Egypt?
I wonder how they felt when they were on the other side of the water and were free?
I wonder how you show your thanks to God?

The lesson for April 10 is The Mystery of Easter: The women wanted to remember Jesus, even if it was sad. When they came to the tomb, they found that the stone had been rolled back and that the tomb was empty. Jesus had died on the cross, but somehow he was still with them as he is with us, especially in the bread and wine.

I wonder where you find Jesus in your life?
I wonder how you can tell that he is always with you?
