Parish Participation in Worship Services

As a parish, we support as many pathways as possible to worship and encourage everyone to participate in the service. We have a children’s collection staffed by youngsters who pass their basket alongside the adult ushers and then bring it up to the altar with the other gifts.

The Altar Guild participates through the cyclical church rituals of changing hangings and preparing the alter. Lay Eucharistic ministers read the second lesson and offer the chalice during Communion. They also bring Communion to those unable to attend services. In addition to adults, middle school and high school students serve as acolytes and lectors.
