Parish
Organization
Trinity
Parish is managed by a senior and a junior warden, a treasurer,
a clerk, and six vestry members who are elected. These ten,
together with the rector, constitute the vestry of the parish.
Under our diocesan structure, the vestry with advice from
its appointed committees manages the endowment, real estate,
and general affairs of the parish.
Committee
service is a valuable way for parishioners to both contribute
their talents to and deepen their relationship with the
parish.
To
learn more about serving on a committee please please email

Our
major committees are detailed below:
Property
Committee |
|
The
Property Committee members are primarily responsible
for identifying and seeing to needed repairs. They also
plan long-term improvements and maintenance for all
buildings owned by the parish. The members direct and
review expenditures of funds and report to the vestry
on major projects. This committee meets about once a
month. |
Finance
& Stewardship Committee |
|
The
Finance and Stewardship Committee develops the annual
budget, which is then approved by the vestry. This committee
also encourages parishioners to become involved in parish
life. The committee’s work is seasonal. Several
months before the winter annual meeting, the committee
meets numerous times to prepare the annual budget. In
autumn, the committee meets to plan stewardship programs
and prepare the annual Pledge Drive. Throughout the
year, meetings are held to review progress on major
projects. |
Worship
Committee |
|
The
Worship Committee supervises the rituals and liturgy
used in the church services. This committee has surveyed
parishioners to ascertain their views and its members
oversee changes to our special services. Members also
serve as a sounding board for the rector’s initiatives. |
Outreach
Committee |
|
The
Outreach Committee is charged with taking stewardship
beyond the parish into Newton and the surrounding
communities. The committee identifies the programs
our members agree to support. The committee oversees
a separate outreach budget. |
| Parish
Life Committee |
 |
The
Parish Life Committee organizes special events at Trinity.
Primarily these are feasts. The Parish Life Committee
leads us in the example of the ancient church tradition
of meeting and talking over a shared meal. |
| Investment
Committee |
 |
The
Investment Committee oversees Trinity’s endowment.
Many members of this committee are chosen for their
expertise in investment. This committee meets two or
three times a year, including one meeting with representatives
from the advisory firm that manages the endowment. |
