Music
at Trinity
Trinity
Parish is a place where music and worship are interwoven,
where many voices come together in praise and thanksgiving
to celebrate the presence of the spirit of God.
From
the high point of the candlelit midnight mass on Christmas
Eve to light summer fare, music is an essential ingredient
in any Trinity service. Highlighted by the magnificent,
historic Hook and Hastings organ, the repertoire ranges
from canticles to perennial favorites like Mozart and Mendelssohn
to spirituals. Parishioners are encouraged to request their
favorite hymns.
Drawing
on the rich music programs at the prominent New England
Conservatory, a choir of gifted amateur and professional
singers perform under the guidance of our accomplished music
director.
We
are fortunate to hear solo singers and guest instrumentalists—a
trumpet at Easter, joint choirs with sister churches, and
violins, harps, cellos, recorders, hand bells, and oboes
during various times of the year. The Newton North Family
Singers join with our choir for a service in Advent to present
larger seasonal choral works.
A
family choir comprising children, teens and adults from
the congregation performs several times a year. Student
singers, trumpeters, pianists, violinists, and flutists
from the congregation and choir have all performed.
