Trinity
Parish takes pride in its strong sense of community and
welcoming atmosphere. After each Sunday service, members
of the congregation, clergy, and choir enjoy the coffee
hour to greet and meet new members, catch up, talk informally
with clergy, and offer each other support. Many of the children
and teens shoot hoops or kick a soccer ball around in the
adjacent gym.
Opportunities
for fellowship are not limited to coffee hours on Sunday.
Children, teens and adults get together several times a
year for potluck lunches and dinners. There is an annual
picnic in the summer and apple picking in the fall. Each
December, we hold a children’s Christmas workshop,
sing carols, and enjoy a visit from Santa Claus. The men
served pancakes before the Sunday service, during Lent this
year, and the children participated with several of the
teens in an Easter workshop. Easter Sunday featured a candy-filled
egg hunt after the service.
The men gather every month or so on Saturday mornings at
the local IHOP; they jokingly call their get-together's
“Cholesterol for Christ.” The women sometimes
have tea, share a meal, or go to a movie. The confirmation
class has visited a Heifer International farm and had a
sleep over, complete with movies, in the church.
Fellowship
is an important part of who we are and what we value as
a parish. As one single parent put it, “I discovered
that it really does take a parish to raise a family.”
